Taking a week off to work ahead. Back on the 9th.
I’m moving updates to Fridays since that’s when I’m finishing them anyway.
We’re now officially on the new update schedule. For the foreseeable future, We Were Here will be updating every Tuesday. There are a couple of reasons for this.
I find it hard to advance a story in a strip format because it takes too long and the flow gets broken up by having to cram a punchline in every four panels. This way I can do a full scene all at once, stick three or four smaller jokes in each one and move a story along at a more natural pace. For the weeks I just want to do random gag strips, I can just string a few of them together.
Also, this gives me time to develop other projects. For anybody who remembers Orbital Mechanics (formerly “Out Among the Stars), it will be returning on January 24. I’m also going to be trying to blog every weekday at ScottSkillings.com and will be posting short fiction occasionally at Other Lights, though there’s nothing there yet.
Okay, since I’m actually doing some advertising for the site now, and people other than people I know are going to be visiting, I should probably have some kind of recent activity here in the blog. Actually, I should be blogging on a regular basis anyway, so now’s a good time to start.
To any new readers, welcome! If you want, you can check out the About page for a quick recap of what’s happened so far in the strip, but for the most part it’s all stand alone gags so there isn’t much you really need to know to just start following from here on out.
The strip updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Go ahead and use the tags over on the left there to browse the strips by topic, dive into the Archives, or go on back to the beginning and read the whole thing. There’s an RSS feed here if you want to keep up with the strip that way. Comments are always welcome, so let me know how I’m doing.
